Visual Baseball:  Introducing the BatCode
視覺化棒球 : 打擊條碼的介紹

THT 的 Kevin Dame最近在玩這個小玩意兒，挺有趣的，跟大家分享一下。


 ========================條碼貓看棒球===============================　

使用像條碼一樣的散佈方式，去看打者的打擊表現。線的厚度用來代表安打，
細線部分表示保送跟一壘安打，最厚的部分則代表全壘打，空白處代表出局。
而大量密集的細線代表連串安打，較厚的區塊呈現出打擊火力，來掃瞄一下條碼吧～

2)Granderson有個火熱的開頭，但是虎頭蛇尾。
  (以既有數據解釋就是指上壘率跟打擊火力)

　分別列出的是Bonds的2001球季，一朗的2004年球季，
　以及Sosa的1998年球季。這些打者的這幾年表現，都非常卓越。


5)另外，還有一些人2010的4月份表現:
  分別是Adam Jones ，Chone Figgins ，Carlos Quentin 以及 Julio Borbon 等人。

Happy Friday. Here's an experiment that I'd love some feedback on. I'm using
the barcode metaphor to visualize a hitter's performance for each at-bat.
Line thickness represents the type of hit (thinnest for walks and singles,
thickest for homeruns) with each at-bat separated by a space. Big white areas
represent long stretches of outs. Lots of lines represent a string of hits,
with thicker patches representing power. Let's take BatCode for a spin.

Here's one of the league's best hitters - Robinson Cano - for the month of
April. Pretty consistent and with lots of power throughout.

Here's a player - Curtis Granderson - who got off to a hot start but has
really tailed off (both in terms of OBP and power).

And here's David Ortiz' entire 2009 season with all the ups and downs

I got a request for Barry Bonds' 2001 season, Ichiro's 2004 season, and Sammy
Sosa's 1998 season. These BatCodes are pretty remarkable
