Damon Sublett had surgery to repair a torn ligament in his thumb, and he’s
going to be out for a long time. Maybe all season. Sucks. Meanwhile, my
friend Andy in Sunny Daytona tells me that Andrew Brackman is due back from
the disabled list any day now. Apparently he just had a cut on his pitching
hand that needed to heel. No biggie.
Triple-A Scranton (5-4 win over Louisville) got to face the $30M man in this
one
Kevin Russo, 3B: 1 for 4, 1 R, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 1 K – took Aroldis Chapman deep,
the first homer the Cuban flamethrower has given up as a pro
Colin Curtis, RF: 1 for 1 – got picked off first … left the game for an
unknown reason in the 3rd

walk & also took Chapman deep for a solo shot

scored a run … Lyerly doubled, drove in two & scored twice
Luke Murton, LB & Kelvin Castro, SS: both 0 for 4 – Murton walked & K’ed
twice … Castro committed both a fielding & throwing error
Kyle Higashioka, C: 3 for 5 – gets back over the Mendoza line
Ray Kruml, CF & Garrison Lassiter, 3B: both 0 for 3 – Kruml K’ed …
Lassiter walked, drove in a run & committed a throwing error
Schaeffer Hall: 8 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 4 K, 16-3 GB/FB – another start,
another night of domination … he actually raised his ERA to 0.81 & nearly
tripled his season walk total to five in this one
