Yankees win a close one against the Knights 5-4


"I felt real good. It's been a long time. I got back to doing what I can

do, throw strikes and put the ball in play," said Moseley.


The Knights jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first

inning after a solo homer by Dayan Viciedo.


In the bottom of the first inning, Jesus Montero hit a grand slam to left

field. Montero destroyed the fastball Matt Zaleski threw him and gave the

 Yankees a 4-1 lead. Reegie Corona, Eduardo Nunez and Jon Weber all scored

 on Montero's grand slam.


"I feel really happy. It was a great moment. I hit the ball really well

tonight," said Montero.


The Knights tightened the Yankee lead to 4-3 in the top of the third. Dayan

 Viciedo singled in Brent Lillibridge and Tyler Flowers doubled in Viciedo.


But, the Yankees extended their lead to 5-3 in the bottom half of the

third inning. Eduardo Nunez blasted his second home run of the season.


The Knights tightened the Yankee lead to just 5-4 in the top of the fifth

inning. With the bases loaded, the Yankees almost had an inning ending double

play. But, Lillibridge was able to score due to a dropped ball by Yankee

first baseman David Winfree.


The Knights gave the Yankees a scare in the ninth inning. Jonathan

Albaladejo came in to close out the game for the Yankees. Donny Lucy drew

a leadoff walk and then advanced to second on a passed ball. Lucy then

advanced to third after a deep fly ball to right field off the bat of Javier

 Colina. But, Lillibridge lined out to Reegie Corona and Jordan Danks
grounded

out to Corona to end the game.


Monday night's win gave the Yankees their sixth straight win and a one and

one half game lead over the Syracuse Chiefs. The Yankees begin an eight game

road trip tomorrow in Indianapolis at 7:00 pm.
