Johnson strained the calf covering first base in a drill. Imagine, though,
if he had injured last week when Chien-Ming Wang selected him as one of his
running mates in a punitive jog to the outfield wall and back.
As promising a prospect as Wang is,
there wouldn't be a hole deep enough to hide in, a minor
league classification low enough for him to be buried in.
This is not an organization with a sense of humor,
and wrecking the prized lefty, no matter how innocently,
would not go down easily.
Johnson feigned a limp when he returned from that jog.
If Wang had any awareness at all of who he's dealing with,
his life flashed in front of his eyes.
