Schilling mows down Yanks

In his first start at Yankee Stadium since he won
Game 6 of the 2004 ALCS,Curt Schilling turned in a vintage
performance, giving up two runs over eight innings. Manny
Ramirez ended his slump in a big way, crushing a two-run
blast in the first, before the Sox broke it open a with a
six-run fourth.
Chacon roughed up early

Shawn Chacon ran into trouble right off the bat,
giving up a two-run homer to Manny Ramirez in the first,
and he was pulled in the fourth, charged with five runs on
six hits. Meanwhile, the Bronx Bombers were held in check
by Curt Schilling, with the exception of Jason Giambi, who
went deep in the fourth, and Bernie Williams, who added an
RBI single in the eighth.
Notes: Posada out with ailing shoulder
NEW YORK -- Jorge Posada sat out Saturday's game against
the Red Sox, as the catcher was feeling the effects of
Friday night's home-plate collision with Boston's Jason
Varitek.
Posada was suffering from a jammed right shoulder, prompting
manager Joe Torre to give John Flaherty the start behind the
plate. Flaherty, who is Randy Johnson's regular catcher, will
also start on Sunday.
