Sheffield knows all about pain, having played the majority of last season
with a partial tear in his shoulder. Sheffield compensated for that injury by
hitting closer to the plate, allowing him to reach outside pitches easier.

He will take that same approach now, as he can't put all of his weight on his
left leg to get to those balls.

"I'm not going to try to go out and get the ball," Sheffield said. "When I
put all of the pressure on my front leg, I'm not really flexible to do that.
I've got to let the ball get deep.

"I came in the league hitting on top of the plate, so it shouldn't be a
problem," he added. "It might help me, because by letting the ball get deep,
I won't go out and chase bad pitches."

  剛剛看九月13號的新聞,sheffield因為怕受傷的因素,打算採取將球在跟進來一點
 ,來攻擊較外側的球,並不想要用可能會使自己左腳承受更多壓力的追打方式

  還說到他自己去年季末有肩膀撕裂傷的經驗,也曾使用過這種策略;還很邱說自己
  是聯盟的強打,這種調整應該不是問題
