紅襪今天跟Jays因為因雨延賽, 明天他們要一日2戰了.
今晚的Schilling改到明晚出場, 預定明晚的Wakefield要投下午場.
But the originally scheduled showdown between Curt Schilling and Randy Johnson,
co-heroes for the Diamondbacks in the 2001 World Series, will no longer come
to fruition. Instead, the Red Sox will pitch Wakefield on three days' rest on
Saturday vs. Johnson. Schilling will start Game No. 162 against Mike Mussina.
"We set it up a long time ago in what we thought was our best order," said
Francona. "So you stay with that. Then when it rains, we make adjustments.
所以原先大部份人預測的Big Unit/Schilling與Moose/Wakefield可能會生變.
另外紅襪也提到臨時這個雙重賽對他們來講也是個考驗:
While Francona usually tries to pace his players during doubleheaders, he
admitted that these games are too crucial to take the normal approach.
"I think the idea is to make this into our advantage somehow," said Francona.
"Because of the importance of these games, we probably are going to have a lot
of guys play 18 innings. Maybe it will be 20 innings, maybe it will be 22,
who knows? Whatever we're asked to do, we'll always try to make it to our
advantage."
Though doubleheaders are typically tough to sweep, which would seemingly
put the Red Sox at a slight disadvantage in their tussle with the Yankees,
Myers thinks that the urgency of the games will alter conventional logic.
In fact, with the Red Sox fresh off a weeklong road trip, Myers thought
there could be benefits to the rainout, which was announced roughly an
hour after the scheduled first pitch.
"It helps a lot, especially coming off the road trip," said Myers.
"Guys can get home, spend a little time at home, get a good night's
sleep, come in here tomorrow and try to win two."
畢竟他們也希望能在對Jays這個系列戰結束後能取得完美優勢再來對上洋基,
但雙重賽的確累人, 而且他們也有輸不得的壓力.
他們是提到往好處想可以多休息一天 XD
希望這會是一場"及時雨", 讓洋基能帶著優勢及小一點的壓力做客Boston XD
