算是 Brian Cashman 最正確的補強. 若是沒有他, 洋基根本不可能進季後賽.
明年應該也會被留下.

: broke down. Unflappable on the hill, might be a corner-stone of next Yankee

右投菜鳥, 但在 Carl Pavano, Jaret Wright, Kevin Brown 改打 DL 時, 有如天上
掉下來的禮物. 在投手丘上不表顏色, 十分冷靜. 可能成為洋基未來霸業的基石.

: B+ DEREK JETER
: Finished near the top of the league in runs and average, but usual consistent
: clutch hitting took a nosedive. Made the last out with the tying run on base
: too many times. Defense was solid.

今年球季在得點和打率都有聯盟前幾名的成績, 然而關鍵時機的表現則另人不敢
恭維. 有太多次追平分在壘上而無法建功的記錄了. 防守則如常穩固.

: B+ ALEX RODRIGUEZ
: MVP front-runner admitted he played like a dog for five days ... in October.
: Regular season numbers were superb (.321, 48, 130), but completely flopped in
: ALDS.

目前季賽 MVP 呼聲最高的人, 但十月的這五天表現則像來福.
季賽表現超群 (Avg: 0.321, HR: 48, RBI: 130), 但 ALDS 的表現鳥到不行.

: Average was down (.291), but run production (34 HRs, 123 RBIs) was not.Thigh in
: jury late in season hurt running and mobility. Year Two came with more needless

打率下降, 但得分能力大約持平. 季賽後段因為大腿拉傷, 使得速度和移動力下降.
今年比起去年, 為了更多不必要的事情分心, 那麼明年呢 ...
(我想有一部份指的是他對媒體放話的事. 另外是他自己管自己經紀約 ? 沒記錯的話)

: B- HIDEKI MATSUI
: Offensive numbers were impressive (.305, 23, 116) until the ALDS. Keeps
: regressing in the field. Any Yankee plan in which he's the center fielder next
: year would be a mistake. Left eight runners on base in Game 5.

進攻表現令人印象深刻, 不過不包括 ALDS; 防守能力衰退中.
如果明年洋基想讓他防守中外野, 那會是個錯誤.
在 ALDS Game 5, 他的單場 LOB 是 8. (As Impressive !)

: Won Comeback Player of the Year, which, ironically, was sponsored by a
: performance enhancer. Looked hopeless at the start of the season but finished
: with 32 HRs and 87 RBIs.

今年東山再起, 不過很諷刺的, 依靠的是增強表現藥物.
球季開始時讓人覺得 ORZ, 不過還是打出了 32 HR, 87 RBIs.

如果說讓投手把球投好, 是補手的責任, 那麼 Posada 在這方面表現如何呢 ?
他在 Shawn Chacon, Aaron Small 和 CMW 身上得到了好結果, 但他可完全無法與
高個頭溝通, 原因呢 ? 攻擊表現比多數的補手好, 不過也在下滑中.

: Shoulder problem contributed to a higher ERA (4.73) than expected.

: Was somewhat dependable in postseason after getting shellacked in regular

他的表現實在讓人很想歸到 D 級 (for Disappointment), 但他仍有 17 勝,
對紅襪拿下 5 場, 並在球季後半有著比較好的表現.
可惜在季後賽的表現再度轉壞, 也搞砸了 ALDS Game 3.

: Days of an ERA under 4.00 seem to be over.Won only 13 games and elbow tendiniti

似乎往日不到 4 的自責分率已難再現. 只有 13 場勝場, 並在後半季出現肘部肌腱
炎, 這對明年球季都是不好的預兆. ALDS Game 5 也吃了苦頭.

有幾場洋基之所以輸球, 是因為他在中外野發呆. 雖然他在洋基王朝貢獻了心力, 但
現實是殘酷的. 他要不是就這麼結束職業生涯, 要不就是轉換去當個像 Tino Martinez
的角色.

: What were the Yankees thinking?

深奧的選擇.

: B JOE TORRE
: Kept it together during toughest year as a skipper.But he fell two steps short
: of a place he's reached four times, so it's impossible to give him an A.
Joe Torre : 表現 B
作為 Manager, 還是在艱困的情況下維持球隊的隊型. 然而這次洋基在 ALDS 就被
清場 (即便他帶領洋基拿下四次 WS), 因此他不可能得到 A.

: B- BRIAN CASHMAN
: This is more of a front office grade. Some signings (Womack, Pavano) still
: perplex, but Cashman made the moves (recalling Wang and Cano, acquiring Chacon)
:  that prevented the season from collapsing.
Brian Cashman : 表現 B-
這分數是從 front office 的表現打的. 雖然有些約簽得讓人搞不懂 (Womack, Pavano),
但洋基仍是靠他的某些決策 (徵召王建民和 Cano, 簽下 Chacon) 才沒有在本季崩盤.
