The Yankees will count on a big outing from Mike Mussina on Wednesday,
having used most of their bullpen during Tuesday night's 11-inning win
over the Tigers.

Mariano Rivera, who earned the win with three innings of relief, and
Kyle Farnsworth, who has pitched on three consecutive days, will likely
be unavailable for the game, making a solid outing by Mussina a necessity
for the Bombers.

Manager Joe Torre even joked to Mussina after Tuesday's game that the

That isn't a likely scenario, of course, but Mussina understood Torre's
point. Mussina has posted a quality start (at least six innings pitched
with three or less earned runs) in each of his 11 outings this season,
pitching into the seventh in seven of those starts.
