Minutes after shaking hands with Alex Rodriguez and Yogi Berra, high
school All-American pitcher Rick Porcello had to admit he was not a
Yankees fan. His allegiances fall with the Mets.

But that didn't mean being named as one of the 38 2006 Aflac High
School All-Americans wasn't still a thrill. Porcello said he would
rather be at Yankee Stadium than Shea.

Porcello, RHP Matt Harvey, OF Steven Brooks and RHP Evan Danieli were
all star-struck Friday. Soon they will be in the spotlight themselves,
as they will play in the fourth annual All-Star Classic Aug. 12 at San
Diego State's Tony Gwynn Stadium. The game will air live at 3 p.m. ET
on FOX Sports Net.

Danieli, who at 6-foot-8 towered over Berra, will go to the game with
a couple of his high school teammates. Brooks and Porcello also played

Posing for a picture with Maris, Brooks gave the coach some advice to
help him with the baseball game. If he used all three pitchers
standing next to him, the East team would definitely beat the West.

"I'll hold you to that," Maris said.

The game's result was the last thing on the players' minds Friday.
They were still shocked to be in the presence of Berra and A-Rod.

"Those are some heroes of mine," Danieli said. "You look up to them
and you want to be them. For me, to shake their hand, is something
memorable."

The proceeds for the game will go to the San Diego Children's Hospital
and Health Center for the research and treatment of pediatric cancer.

"Knowing that you're playing for a cause, that's something important,"
Danieli said. "It's not just a pick-up game, it's actually a game that
means something. So you have to keep that in the back of your head."
