BALTIMORE -- Veteran Mike Mussina entered Saturday's game at Camden Yards with
a 77-40 lifetime record at his former home. Rookie Adam Loewen had made five
career starts there, going 0-1 overall.
老將Mussina禮拜六面對老東家金鶯隊，他之前在金鶯的戰績是77勝40負。而新秀Adam

Those two pitchers reversed their usual roles in Baltimore on Saturday, for one
afternoon at least. Loewen and two relievers combined for a one-hit shutout,
while Mussina gave up three runs to his former team en route to a 5-0 loss,
halting New York's five-game win streak. The last time the Orioles held an
opponent to one hit was in August 2000, with Mussina pitching for them.
禮拜六這場在金鶯隊主場的比賽，這兩位投手似乎角色對換，新秀Loewen和其他兩位中繼

Despite the loss, the Yankees are a half-game ahead of the Red Sox, who play a
night game against the Devil Rays on Saturday.

The one hit for the Yankees was a Bobby Abreu single in the first inning, and
it was the first time they were limited to that total since July 2004. After
Abreu's hit, New York batters were a combined 0-for-28 with four walks and 10
strikeouts. The Yankees were shut out for only the second time this year, with
the first time coming June 25 at home against the Marlins.
洋基唯一的一支安打是由Bobby Abreu在第一局所擊出，隨後幾局皆無功而返，而上一次
洋基被對手從第2局壓制到第9局則要追溯到2004年的7月。在Abreu的唯一一支安打後，

"We didn't put any pressure on anybody. We were flat," manager Joe Torre said.
"We just kept spinning our wheels."

Mussina labored through the second inning, throwing 42 pitches to eight batters
. He uncharacteristically walked the eighth and ninth batters to load the bases
for Brian Roberts with two outs. Roberts lined a ball into right field for a
two-run single on the ninth pitch of his at-bat, giving the Orioles an early
three-run advantage.

It was the first loss for Mussina since June 15. He pitched five innings, his
shortest start in over a month, giving up six hits. Mussina did notch his
1,000th strikeout with the Yankees in the fourth inning.

Loewen quieted the Yankees' bats, which had produced at least five runs in the
team's previous 12 games. Loewen pitched 6 1/3 innings, the longest outing of
his young career, and he walked five while fanning eight. In June, Loewen made
his first Major League start against the Yankees and gave up three earned runs
in five innings.

A night after leaving 13 runners on base, the Yankees had only two men in
scoring position Saturday, and they stranded four runners total. Loewen walked
the first two batters in the seventh and then struck out Jorge Posada before
being removed. Reliever Todd Williams induced a Craig Wilson inning-ending
double play on the first pitch Williams threw.
上一場洋基還有13個殘壘，而此役洋基僅僅只有2位跑者佔上得分圈，整場僅4個殘壘。
Loewen在第七局被先是保送兩名打者，接著三振掉了Posada，然後才被換下場。接手

The Yankees received a scare in the first inning, when Derek Jeter attempted to
steal third base. He would have recorded a steal, but Orioles third baseman
Melvin Mora blocked Jeter's path, caught the ball and fell on Jeter's left
shoulder. Jeter shook off the temporary pain and played the rest of the game.
On Opening Day in 2003 at Toronto, he dislocated his left shoulder sliding into
third base and missed 36 games.
洋基在第一局就嚇出了一身冷汗，原因是當Jeter準備盜向三壘時，金鶯三壘手Mora觸殺
了Jeter，但他整個人往Jeter左肩倒去。Jeter當時感到一陣痛楚，但還是繼續比賽。記得

"It's not an issue," Jeter said. "I had that base stolen. He just landed on me

Jeter said after the game that he was fine and expects to be in the lineup
Sunday. He finished 0-for-3, snapping his 13-game hitting streak.

Although Jeter is healthy, the Yankees did lose a middle infielder Saturday.
Miguel Cairo strained his left hamstring while running to first base in the
third inning, and exited the game. Cairo, who's had a hamstring injury in the
past, said he felt the muscle tighten up, forcing him to stop before reaching
the base.
雖然Jeter沒大礙，洋基此役還是傷了一名成員。Miguel Cairo在第三局衝三壘的時候
左腿抽筋，並且因此退場。Cairo過去就有過左腿拉傷的經驗，他說他在衝三壘的時候突然
感到肌肉整個緊繃，讓他在三壘前停了下來。
Torre said he thinks Cairo could be out for a couple of weeks. Cairo has been
filling in for Robinson Cano, who strained his left hamstring in late June.
Cano is finishing up a rehab assignment in Double-A this weekend, and is
expected to be activated Tuesday. Torre said the team will probably play a man
short Sunday.
Torre說Cairo可能會休息好幾個禮拜，Cairo從6月開始替補也是左腿拉傷的Cano至今。
Cano本週已經結束了他在2A的復健賽，可望在下週二對白襪的時候先發上場。Torre說
