[新聞] Progress made in Mussina negotiations

Arn Tellem, the agent for Mike Mussina, said Saturday that he and the Yankees
have made "substantial progress" in their negotiations for a two-year contract.
穆帥的經紀人在禮拜6宣佈,穆帥已經和洋基達成了協商於簽下兩年的合約.

At this rate, Mussina's contract, which is expected to be worth as much as $25
 million, could be finalized and formally announced sometime this week.
在這樣比率下,穆帥的合約大約預估將有2500萬美元,也可能在本週正式公開的宣佈.

Mussina is coming off a six-year, $88.5-million contract and realized he needed
 to accept a smaller salary to stay a Yankee, which is his preference.
穆帥的6年8850萬美元的合約到今年到期.而他需要有和他表現相似的薪水來留在洋基.

The Yankees realized Mussina deserves more than the $10 million a year they pay
 to Carl Pavano and entered talks willing to give Mussina about $12 million a
year.
洋基實現了穆帥的願望,給他比1000萬更多的薪水(這是他們付給:"PAIN"VANO的薪水)
同時給穆帥大約一年1200萬的薪水.

Negotiations began a little more than a week ago with an in-person meeting
between Tellem and general manager Brian Cashman in the metropolitan area.

Tellem described the talks as "positive" in an e-mail Thursday, but he
cautioned that "the sides have just started the process." Saturday, however,
he was far more upbeat.

Mussina's expiring contract included a $17-million team option for next year;
the Yankees have until Nov. 15 to decline it and pay a $1.5-million buyout.
They already might have done so as part of negotiations.

The Yankees also will officially pick up Gary Sheffield's $13-million option
before Sunday night's deadline, still with the intention of trading him to
the highest bidder. Cashman declined to comment Saturday and Rufus Williams,
Sheffield's attorney, did not return a messag
接下來沒甚麼重點..大致上就是關於薛老的選擇權之類的.

穆帥應該是要回來了.真的是太好了.那明年的先發投手群..就理論上而言
應該會比今年好一點點囉.再另外一篇評論上有這樣排到

#4 - Randy Johnson and/or Carl Pavano
#5 - Jeff Karstens and/or Darrell Rasner
不過我想4號跟5號應該是巨怪跟痛痛人(P.S如果他不要再頭髮受傷的話)

現在看起來.我們簽下松阪大輔的機會很大..所以1~3號應該是小王,穆帥跟松阪(ZITO也有
可能)不過很多評論家 認為松阪會是一位好的投手,但是讓他擔任2號或3號的位子會有一點
冒險.

不過只要先發投手有補強.今年季後賽讓我們看到掉眼淚的情形,應該就不會發生了.
