Injured thumb sidelines shortstop for third straight game

NEW YORK -- Derek Jeter remained out of the Yankees' lineup on
Thursday, marking the third consecutive game in which New York has
been without its starting shortstop.
週四 Derek Jeter 仍在洋基的先發名單上缺陣，紐約已經連續三場沒有它的先

Jeter is recovering from a bruised right thumb, suffered Sunday when
he was hit by a Rodrigo Lopez pitch in Baltimore. He has been unable
to throw the ball since injuring his thumb.

"He's a little bit better," said manager Joe Torre. "It will probably

Randy Johnson in order following Wednesday's rainout, they did it with
a plan in mind.

Johnson, who will pitch on Friday with an extra day of rest, will take

week in extended Spring Training games, the final step before the
right-hander begins his Minor League rehab assignment.

Dotel will pitch for Class A Tampa on Sunday, officially starting his

Crosby, on the DL with a right hamstring injury, will begin with Class
