WASHINGTON - Say hello to T.J. Beam, a 25-year-old right-hander who joins the
Yankees today while Kyle Farnsworth's balky back forces him to the sidelines
but not the DL.

Enter Beam, who started the season at Trenton (Double-A) and was promoted to
Columbus (Triple-A) recently. In four games for the Clippers, the 6-foot-7, 215
-pounder worked eight innings, gave up seven hits, fanned 13 and walked two. At
Trenton he was 4-0 with a 0.86 ERA in 18 games.
