The bad news? The Yankees have dropped three straight and eight of their last
11.

壞消息是，洋基三連敗並且再過去的十一場中輸了八場。

The good news? Boston is only two up, and on June 20, a two-game lead isn't
worth much.

好消息是，波士頓只領先兩場，而在六月二十號，兩場領先算不了什麼。

The best news? Randy Johnson appears to be back.

最好的消息是，ＲＪ似乎回歸正常了。

Now, before the comments start flowing in that the Unit isn't back to his Cy
Young form, may I remind you all that I have said time and time again that I
don't think he will ever be that pitcher again. I have been consistent in
saying that Randy can win 18-20 games with an ERA around 4.00, and from what
I have seen in the past three weeks, I stand by that.

In his last five starts, Johnson is 2-2 with a 3.82 ERA. Take away that
horrendous Oakland start, and he's 2-1 with a 2.36 ERA in the other four.
Pretty good for a washed-up has-been, eh?

他是 2-1 2.36 ERA， 以一個過去式來說還不錯吧?

He'll pitch well more often than he won't, and combined with Mike Mussina and
Chien-Ming Wang, the three of them provide a pretty solid 1-2-3 at the top of
the rotation.

他好表現的時候會比不好的時候多，而加上穆帥跟小王他們三個算是相當穩固的前段先發

I still believe Chacon will turn things around, and I imagine that they'll deal
for another starter to replace Wright.

我還是認為Chacon會開始回神，而且我認為他們大概會找人來取代Wright.

There's way too much time left for anyone to count out the Yankees, Red Sox or
Blue Jays. I'm not such a believer in Toronto, but Boston will do enough to
make it an interesting summer. I'm sure the team we see there won't be the same
come July 31, either.

Here's a little idea of how the Yankees are dealing with this skid, having lost
8 of 11. I asked Derek Jeter about it after Monday's loss and this was his
reply:

"I didn't know that, actually," he said. "We haven't been playing poorly except
for the game in Washington when we had the big lead. Yesterday, they came up
with the big home run and today, we just ran into a tough pitcher. If you're
going to lose, you want the other team to beat you. Today, they beat us."

He's right. That game on Saturday was terrible, which I clearly said in this
very space. But Sunday and Monday's games weren't. Wang and Johnson pitched
well, and another hit here or there, the Yankees would still be tied for first.
But they're not.

他說的沒錯。禮拜六的那場真的很慘，而我也在這裡說道過。但是過去兩天的比賽不是。
王建民跟RJ都表現的很好，而如果運氣好一點點洋基就還是東區第一，但他們不是。

There are 94 games left. Buckle your seatbelts.

還有94場比賽。　準備看刺激的球季吧。
