the Yankees rolled to their second win in three July 4 weekend games over the
Mets.

The victory enabled the Yankees to stay four games behind the AL East-leading
Red Sox. The NL East-leading Mets have lost five of six but hold an 11-game
bulge over the second-place Phillies.

third that obliterated a 4-1 Mets lead. It appeared the catcher didn't
appreciate A-Rod admiring the blast from the plate.

The front-running Stadium customers called for and received curtain calls from
A-Rod after his 18th and 19th homers. During a seventh-inning at-bat the crowd
chanted, "A-Rod, A-Rod" and cheered him following a ground out.

He is 3-1 and has been the victor in the last three Yankee wins.

The Stadium crowd, who sat through a lengthy delay, came alive in the third
when A-Rod drove a 1-2 pitch from Soler deep into the right-field bleachers
to put the Yankees ahead, 6-4.

As A-Rod circled the bases, the crowd, obviously, showered him with cheers.
Lo Duca, however, was steaming as he stared at him from second to home. As
Rodriguez touched home plate, Lo Duca screamed at him. After high-fiving
Derek Jeter, Rodriguez took a step back toward the catcher. But umpire
Tim McClelland stepped in and restrained him. Then, Jason Giambi, who scored
on the slam, moved toward Lo Duca and McClelland intercepted him, too.

Soler set himself up for trouble by walking Green, the No. 9 hitter and
Johnny Damon to start the frame. Jeter scored Green with a single to left that
cut the Mets' lead to 4-2. Giambi reached on an infield single that
Julio Franco dropped and Soler didn't cover first base on. Four pitches later,
Rodriguez crushed his 13th career slam and second of the season.
保送第九棒的Green讓Soler自己陷入了大麻煩，Green和之後的Damon也開啟了洋基野火般

Jorge Posada followed with a double and when Melky Cabrera scored Posada with
a double, Heath Bell surfaced from the Mets' bullpen to give up a two-run
homer to Green, who was hitless in his last 25 big league at-bats.
Posada緊接著擊出二壘安打，後來又藉著Cabrera的二壘安打回到本壘得分。大都會換上

The Yankees added four unearned runs in the fourth for a 13-4 bulge. Right
fielder Xavier Nady dropped Andy Phillips' two-out fly, which allowed two runs
to score. Cabrera's second double plated two more.
洋基在四局下又利用大都會的失誤拿下了四分，取得了13-4的大幅領先。大都會右外野手
Nady漏接了Phillips在兩人出局之後擊出的飛球，因此失掉了兩分。而Cabrera本場第二支

Soler lasted just 22/3 innings, allowed eight runs and seven hits.
