21歲的鄧肯總是使洋基球團對他敬業的打球態度感到印象深刻，而鄧肯的這項特質
，在他被降了一個等級後，仍然沒有改變。這位一壘手在歷經了艱辛的3A旅程後
(在3A打擊率只有0.209，沒有全壘打；被保送9次，三振卻有24次 )，於2A又重新站了起
來，連同昨晚的比賽在內，鄧肯在2A所出賽的26場比賽裡頭，繳出了0.274打擊率、
9支2壘安打、5支全壘打以及18分打點的成績。而同時也保持著連續12場安打的鄧肯說，
他沒有對他的揮擊作任何改變，對於最近優秀的表現他歸因於在打擊區上舒服的感覺。
洋基球團很開心看到他在3A的110個打數中僅揮出4支長打後(3支2壘打、一支3壘打)
，能重拾打擊的爆發力。隨著交易期限7/31的逐漸逼近，鄧肯知道他是被交易的人選，但
他也重申想留在洋基的希望。「我想成為一位大聯盟球員」鄧肯說，「而且我想在
洋基達到這個心願。」
