Yankees regroup to beat Jays
In a recurring theme that could prove costly down the stretch, the Toronto Blue
Jays bullpen blew another opportunity for a victory Saturday.
能否把前面隊友優異的表現給延續下來，是最近一直討論的話題，今天藍鳥的牛棚又一次
把勝利的機會拱手讓人。
The Jays, nine outs away from winning their third straight game, allowed two
runs in the seventh as the New York Yankees walked away with a 5-4 victory in
front of a sellout crowd of 50,014 at Rogers Centre.
藍鳥在拼戰了9局之後，被洋基在第7局拿下重要的那2分，以5比4逆轉戰局，在滿場50,104
名熱情觀眾的加油聲中，敗下陣來，沒法拿下他們的三連勝。
Jason Giambi tied the game 4-4, stroking a pinch-hit double off reliever Scott
Downs and setting the stage for the winning run.
Giambi代打上陣，從中繼的Downs手中敲出4-4追平比數的二壘安打，也把致勝分的打者有
了表演的舞台。
With the bases loaded and one out, Justin Speier, who replaced Downs, struck
out Miguel Cairo but then walked shortstop Derek Jeter for a 5-4 New York lead.

給保送上壘，活生生的把洋基的超前分給擠了回來。
"Spy [Speier] almost worked out of that baby," said Blue Jays manager John
Gibbons. "That's what's so tough about facing Jeter. He makes you throw strikes.
But hey, that seventh inning, we didn't get it done, plain and simple."

Strikes out the side
It appeared the Jays would get the tying run in the bottom of the seventh after
Frank Catalanotto led off the inning with a ringing double off the right-field
wall, but reliever Scott Proctor regrouped to strike out the side.
當Catalanotto在第七局率先敲出右外野牆板上的二壘安打，有了反攻的契機，但Proctor
又繼續穩下來，再把兩名打者給三振出局，單局3K。
Kyle Farnsworth and Mariano Rivera did the rest as the Yankees won their first
of the four-game series with the Jays.
火球男和Mo接力聯手把這次對藍鳥四連戰的第一勝，穩穩的守了下來。
Farnsworth fanned all three Toronto batters he faced and Rivera pitched a
perfect ninth to earn his 23rd save of the season.
火球男也把他面對的三名打者通通三振出局，Mo也以3上3下完美的演出，拿下他本季第23次
的救援。
New York manager Joe Torre was grateful his team had avoided losing four
straight games.
洋基的教頭托瑞，相當感激他球員們的努力，來避免難堪的四連敗。
"I'm just happy we were able to stop this slide," he said. "If you win five
games in a row, you just don't want to give it back right away."

Wang gets win
Chien-Ming Wang (11-4) got the win, allowing four runs and 10 hits in six
innings.

The loss drops Toronto (54-43) three games back of the Yankees (56-39) for
second in the American League East.
這場敗戰又讓藍鳥跟洋基在美聯東區老二的競爭上，又拉開到三場的差距。
Jeremy Accardo, whom the Blue Jays acquired early Saturday morning from San
Francisco for the disgruntled Shea Hillenbrand and right-handed reliever Vinnie
Chulk, didn't take part in Saturday's game.
Jeremy Accardo星期六早上，剛從巨人隊來到藍鳥，和他交換的是跟隊上處的不好的Shea
Hillenbrand外加一個救援投手Vinnie Chulk，也因此無法在星期六的比賽上場。
"I'm stoked to be in this division," Accardo said. "This is the best division
in baseball. I want to be in these games that are tight and pitch against these
teams."
"對於要在這個分區投球我感到相當興奮"Accardo說，"這可能是聯盟裡最棒的分區，我想
在比數接近的比賽上場投球，對抗那些球隊。"
Accardo should see action as a middle reliever,a position that's been a problem
for the Jays all season.

"He'll fit in nicely, we got him for a reason," Gibbons said."He's going to be
a big part of this."

Toronto starting pitcher Ted Lilly went six strong innings, giving up only
three runs and four hits while striking out eight.

Lilly highlighted his performance by striking out Alex Rodriguez three times.

Rodriguez finished a disappointing game going 0-4 with four strikeouts.

"There were too many deep counts I put myself into," Lilly said. "There were
some at-bats they made me do that, especially a couple of at-bats with Jeter.
It's obviously a tough team to beat."

Brandon League began the seventh for Toronto and allowed a leadoff single to
Bernie Williams before getting Andy Phillips on a pop-up.

Clutch double
Downs was then brought in and promptly gave up a single to Melky Cabrera, a
pinch-hit double to Giambi and an intentional walk to Damon, before the Jeter
walk scored the winning run.
此時換Downs上來，迫使卡布用右手打擊，結果還是讓他敲出安打，然後代打的大吉敲出二
壘安打，跟著大門也被故意四壞，這時滿壘的情況，輪到吉特，他仔細的選到一個保送，
把致勝分給送了回來!!
The Yankees took a 2-0 lead when Bernie Williams socked a two-run homer off
Lilly in the second following a triple by Jorge Posada.
莉莉在二局先被波沙達敲了一支三壘安打(上一支在2002年)，但沒想到更慘的是伯尼送了
一發全壘打給藍鳥外野的球迷，比數率先來到2-0。
Toronto quickly got one run back in the bottom of the inning when Aaron Hill
hit an RBI single and then tied the game 2-2 on Eric Hinske's home run in the
fourth.
藍鳥很快的在該局下半靠Aaron Hill的安打追回一分，四局再用Eric Hinske的全壘打扳成
平手，比賽再回到原點...
