Orioles’ Pitchers Hold Yankees to One Hit

BALTIMORE, Aug. 5 — The Baltimore Orioles were supposed to pitch better this
season. They signed Leo Mazzone, the esteemed former pitching coach of the
Atlanta Braves, to guide their staff.

Yet the Orioles came into Saturday’s game with a 5.36 earned run average,

opponents scoreless over eight games in 1993.
