: to a 5-3 win over the Yankees in the nightcap, taking away the good feelings

: Proctor was forced into action to close the second game because Kyle

: Looking ahead to October was partly why Torre deemed Farnsworth unavailable,
: too. Farnsworth felt a twinge in his back between games but thought he could
: pitch. Torre opted against it.

: "I thought I could have gone out there," Farnsworth said, "but Joe said

: That carried the positive theme from the first game, when Wang once again
: placed his stamp as the Yankees' best pitcher.

: Wang's 16 wins ties him with Toronto's Roy Halladay and Chicago's Jon Garland
: for the American League lead, and Wang was rewarded with a resounding standing
