After answering questions about Joe Torre, Brian Cashman talked to the beat
writers about a few items:

* Randy Johnson is expected to miss the start of spring training after having
surgery to repair the herniated disc in his lower back. He has an appointment
in Los Angeles this week with Dr. Robert Watkins, an orthopedic spinal surgeon.
It was Watkins who performed similar surgery on Johnson in 1996.

大錯誤...我是說大單位... 背部開刀後可能春訓不能準時報到..orz....
(可以請你退休嗎? T_T)



* Jason Giambi (left wrist) and Andy Phillips (knee) will get surgery soon.
Both will be ready well before spring training.

Giambi & Phillips都得開刀但是春訓都會到，沒說其他的一壘手是不是也要開刀來
湊滿整隊的一壘手都開刀。



* Cashman said one GM e-mailed him asking about A-Rod right after the Yankees
lost to the Tigers. "I wanted to respond back, 'Buzzard.' But that's the nature
of our job," he said.

Cashman說比賽輸了後他的MSN... i mean e-mail馬上就有人來信詢問能不能要A-rod...
"我想回他說, 你這個禿鷹..." 但這就是我們的工作。

Keep in mind as you hear this "we want to keep Alex" talk that it does Cashman
no good as a negotiator to say, "Yes, we want him out."

(當然別忘了，即使他想交易A-rod也絕對不可能輸來說" OMG SOMEONE TAKE HIM FROM
US PLZZZZZZZ")



* Cashman said his next step would be to determine the coaching staff for next
season. All have one-year contracts that expire Oct. 31. First base coach Tony
Pena has been granted permission to interview for the managerial opening in
Washington.

Cashman 說首先他們要先確立明年的教練團，其他人都是簽一年約， Tony Pena會到
國民隊進行總教練面試..



* Even Carl Pavano came up. The Rajah of Rehab will soon get an off-season
conditioning program he is expected to follow. The Yankees are also pursuing
discipline for his covering up the accident. Pavano will be called into a
meeting that includes a rep from the Players Association. "That will take place.
I promise you that," Cashman said.

復健之王也出現在話題中，他會進行季後體能調整的活動。洋基會把他綁架...我是說叫到
會議室來並且邀請球員工會的代表來聽他的解釋 ...
