NEW YORK -- Chien-Ming Wang struck out a career-high 10 batters and Alex
Rodriguez hit one of three Yankees home runs to defeat the Mets in Sunday's
Subway Series finale, 8-2.

The Yankees built their lead by battering around an old friend, right-hander
Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez, who surrendered six runs and seven hits
-- including a two-run homer to Rodriguez and a solo shot to Johnny Damon --
before being lifted with two outs in the fifth inning.

Rodriguez's blast came with two outs in the first inning, as the slugger
unloaded on a 2-0 pitch and sent it over the left-field wall. Miguel Cairo
added an RBI double, and Damon had a run-scoring hit in the second.

Posada ripped a two-run homer off reliever Aaron Heilman in the eighth.

The power displays provided plenty of support for Wang, who won his fourth
consecutive start with 8 2/3 strong innings. Making his first career start
against the Mets, the right-hander allowed two runs on six hits, walking one,
hitting a batter and setting a new career high in strikeouts.
王建民在今天八又三分之二威力十足的投球中得到了隊友充分的砲火支援，同時也拿下了
個人四連勝。生涯第一度面對大都會的比賽中，只被對方擊出六支安打，送出一次保送和
一顆觸身球，丟掉兩分自責分，並創下他個人單場三振數的新高。
The Mets scored their first run in the seventh, when David Wright reached on
a strikeout that trickled away from Posada for a wild pitch. Carlos Delgado
followed with a double to right that scored Wright from first base. Carlos
Beltran had an RBI single in the ninth to score Ramon Castro.
大都會隊在第七局靠著David Wright的不死三振還有Carlos Delgado的二壘安打得到第一
分。而在九局上半靠著Carlos Beltran的安打將Ramon Castro打回來得到第二分。
