July 1, 2007 -- After getting torched in the seventh inning, Scott Proctor
did some torching of his own a couple hours later.

經過第七局著火的表現，Scott Proctor幾個小時後也自己放了把小火....

Proctor, who was lit up for three runs during the Yankees’ 7-0 loss to
Oakland yesterday afternoon, lit a fire just outside the Yankees dugout
after his teammates went home. He said “everything I had” was a part of
the bonfire, presumably meaning his glove, cap, spikes and who knows what
else. The smell wafted up to the press box, and it reeked as bad as
Proctor’s outing.

pyromaniac. And to think, it seemed Kyle Farnsworth was extreme for
throwing his glove on Friday night.
如果說MO是隊上的救火員，那Proctor是縱火犯，而Farnsworth很極端的在
星期五晚上丟他的手套

“I did it before in Triple-A when things were going bad, just to change
it up,” Proctor said after the impromptu barbecue. “Nothing to it.
I feel great right now. If I throw up about eight zeroes in a row right now,
it’ll make me feel even better.”

『我在3A時也在情況不好時做過同樣的事情，只為了改變』，Proctor事後說，
「與其無關，我現在覺得很好，如果我現在連續八局無失分，那感覺更好」

Just before the fire, he said, “I’d burn my uniform if I wouldn’t get
in trouble for it.”

At least walks weren’t a problem for Proctor this time. Pitching for the
first time since he walked in the winning run during a 3-2 loss to Baltimore,
he allowed hits to three of the four hitters he faced.

Proctor is mired in one of the worst stretches of his career, having
surrendered runs in four straight outings.

“Right now, I’m just throwing like [bleep],” Proctor said. “You can’t
expect to throw the ball down the [bleeping] middle and expect to get an out
of it.”

It was only the second time in Proctor’s four-year career that he’s
allowed earned runs in four straight appearances. From May 23-28 of
last season, he allowed nine hits and eight earned runs over 32/3 innings.
His recent numbers are slightly better, but not by much: he’s now allowed
10 hits and six earned runs over 41/3 innings since June 22.

這是他生涯第二次連續四場有責失分，上次是去年五月23～28日：3又2/3局，
九支安打、八責失；現在的成績稍好一點：自從6月22日起，4又1/3局，10支安打，
六責失....

Jason Kendall greeted Proctor with a single to left, and Shannon Stewart
also singled to left. Proctor retired Mark Ellis on a first-pitch flyout
to left. But Nick Swisher then ripped a 400-foot, two-run double that
bounced on the warning track in center and essentially iced the game.

Mike Myers replaced Proctor and wasn’t any better. He walked the first
lefty he faced, Jack Cust, before allowing Eric Chavez’s RBI double to
left.

Pitching coach Ron Guidry was scratching his head over the recent
ineffectiveness of Proctor and Myers.

“I wish I had an answer,” Guidry said. “Maybe they are just dead tired.
We abused them in the first month of the season. They were in there every
day. I don’t know. I’ll talk to them tomorrow.”

Asked whether he thought Torre is losing trust in him, Proctor said,
