Hearing Boos, Farnsworth Can Only Try Not to Listen

聽到噓聲, Farnsworth只能試著當作沒聽到

In discussing how he now gets booed at Yankee Stadium, Yankees relief pitcher
Kyle Farnsworth offered a rueful smile and said: “I’d boo myself. They have
all the right to.”

pickoff throw to first base and a double. He was booed again when he finished
his one and only inning.

The Yankees tied the score in the ninth and won the game, 3-2, in the 10th
inning, with Brian Bruney and Luis Vizcai'no pitching the final two scoreless

Farnsworth, a 6-foot-4, 235-pound right-hander, has a 1-1 record with a 4.46
earned run average and 19 walks and 24 strikeouts in 38 1/3 innings. Last
weekend at Tampa Bay, he entered two consecutive games with two-run leads and
left after giving up a run in each appearance.

Although Farnsworth has pitched in the major leagues for nine seasons, he

trying not to use him too often on consecutive days because he has had back
problems in the past.

Vizcai'no (6-2) worked the 10th inning Tuesday and allowed no runs and one
hit while getting credit for the victory. He also lowered his earned run
average to 4.53. In his last eight appearances, totaling eight and two-thirds
innings, Vizcai'no has given up no earned runs and four hits with one walk
and eight strikeouts.

LV(6勝2敗)星期二投了無失分的第十局, 為他贏得了一場勝投.  他將ERA降到了4.53.

After Tuesday night’s game, Vizcai'no said: “I’ll pitch whenever they give
me the ball. Sixth, seventh, eighth, even the second inning. I don’t mind.”

series. Chien-Ming Wang (10-4) will face Toronto’s Dustin McGowan (5-5).

When the Yankees and the Devil Rays play a day-night doubleheader Saturday,
Torre said Posada would probably start the night game.

FIFTH SPOT UP FOR GRABS? Kei Igawa will pitch one of Saturday’s two games
against Tampa Bay and Matt DeSalvo the other. With Igawa struggling as the
fifth man in the Yankees’ rotation, two possible replacements are
progressing in the minor leagues while recovering from injuries.

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Monday. Jeff Karstens, recovering from a fractured
right fibula, will pitch for Scranton on Sunday.

Hughes昨天為2ATrenton先發: 1 ER, 2 H, 2 BB, 5 K.
他下次會在下週一為3A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre先發.

Karstens星期天會為Scranton先發.
