Wedding date could complicate Kennedy's schedule
終身大事的日期  讓阿甘有點軋不過來

Now that Roger Clemens is out for who knows how long with an ailing elbow,
the Yankees have to rely even more on rookie Ian Kennedy to pitch them into
the playoffs. This creates a potentially uncomfortable situation for Kennedy.

He is scheduled to get married Oct. 6, right in the middle of the American
League Division Series. Pushing the wedding back a few weeks isn't a viable
option because his fiancee, Allison Jaskowiak, plays basketball for USC. Her
season begins in the middle of October.
可是他原訂10月6號要完成終身大事，剛好碰上美聯分區系列賽，
要推遲婚事有點難度，因為阿甘的閃光Allison Jaskowiak的USC賽事十月中開打
(註:Allison Jaskowiak打Guard/Forward位置)


It's one of those feel-good, feel-bad situations. On a team filled with
multi-millionaires, Kennedy is an easy person to root for. He's only 22, just
over a year out of college. Now, after starting the season with Class-A
Tampa, he has suddenly found himself pitching for the Yankees in the middle
of a pennant race.
這種感覺粉難形容的說，可以說是有點爽又有點不爽，在一堆百萬球星陣中，阿甘還很
平凡，他只不過就是剛從學校畢業一年的22歲小毛頭，然後轉眼間，他突然就發現自己置身
在爭冠賽事中，為洋基效力


But changing the wedding plans so close to the date is not something you
would wish on anyone.
不過，要改變婚事行程這件事，實在是有點OOXX...


Kennedy is a smart man. When presented with this scenario yesterday, he
shrugged. "We'll see," he said. As every married man can understand, it's
probably not a good idea to be quoted in a newspaper talking about changing
his wedding date. Not sure how many fiancees would enjoy reading that.
阿甘是個聰明人，了解到這件事情大條，他聳聳肩表示："擱看麥"....
如同每個結婚的人都知道，要是談論改變婚期這件事，而且還上了報的話，
不是一個好主意，沒有幾個閃光可以忍受這件事 (給林祖母ㄟ記...回去跪算盤...Orz)


Being an athlete herself, Jaskowiak would undoubtedly understand. Once she
heard Kennedy was making his debut for the Yankees Saturday, she received
permission to leave USC even though the women's basketball program was
hosting three important recruits.
不過Jaskowiak自己也身為運動員，她應該是可以理解，
當她聽到阿甘要在洋基初登版，她還是請求允許離開USC去幫阿甘加油
(閃瞎了..真愛無敵)


"It was a big weekend," she said Saturday. She added it was "generous" of her
coaches to let her leave, but you got the sense talking to her there was no
way she was going to miss that game.
她說：這是非常重要的一週，接著讚許她的教練是如此的寬宏大量，允許她離開，
不過當你跟她談話時，你可以感覺到她一點也不想錯過比賽


There are still 23 games left in the regular season, and the postseason is
far from a given for the Yankees. And it's very plausible to think they could
make it without the help of Kennedy. He was impressive in his debut but it
was only one start, so it's far from a given he would be on the postseason
roster. He's on a start-to-start basis now.
洋基接下來還有23場例行賽，
要是你說 "沒有阿甘，洋基也可以打到季後賽" 這種說法太豪狡
接下來的季後賽，才是阿甘正要開始的時候呢...


Oct. 6 is an off day for both AL series, between Games 2 and 3. Would it be
possible for Kennedy to leave the team mid-series, get married as scheduled
in St. Louis and return for Game 3?
10月6號這一天，正好是美聯系列賽第二場跟第三場賽事之間的休息日，
阿甘有可能那麼神猛，趁著休息空檔去結個婚，然後又趕在第三場比賽回來嗎?


As Kennedy said, we'll see.
且讓我們拭目以待
