KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- With tears rolling down his cheeks, Harlan
Chamberlain watched his son pitch in the major leagues for the first time.
Joba Chamberlain did not disappoint.

Chamberlain pitched two scoreless innings as his disabled father looked on,
and the New York Yankees beat the Kansas City Royals 3-2 Friday night to
start a nine-game trip.

amazing,'' Harlan Chamberlain said as he watched his son give up two hits and
preserve a one-run lead.

Disabled by polio when he was just 9 months old, the elder Chamberlain made
the three-hour drive from his home in Lincoln, Neb., on Friday.
把拔九個月大時 就因為小兒麻痺症的缺陷到現在
所以他要花上三個小時的車程從家中離開

''To work as hard as he has and to be on this stage, it's such a blessing,''
he said. Earlier, the 54-year-old, who is confined to a motorized scooter,
said he couldn't be prouder of his son.

需要終生倚賴電動輪椅 54歲的把拔說：他對兒子感到無比的驕傲

''If I can be half the man and half the father he was, I'll be very, very
happy and have a great life,'' Joba said.
喬巴說 如果我在做人跟當父親的職責上有我把拔一半好的話 我就非常心滿意足了
