BOSTON -- After stumbling groggily through most of the first seven innings,
the Yankees got their wake-up call at just the right time.
The Yankees put up a six-run rally against Red Sox relievers Hideki Okajima
and Jonathan Papelbon in the eighth inning en route to a stirring 8-7 victory
at Fenway Park on Friday, doing all of their scoring before Boston was even
able to retire a batter.

ineffective Okajima -- the sixth time New York had hit back-to-back drives
this season -- and Derek Jeter greeted the closer Papelbon with an RBI single
to shallow right.

Bobby Abreu boomed a critical two-run double to deep center to tie the game,
and Alex Rodriguez gave the Yankees their first lead of the evening, ripping
a hard single up the gap in left-center field to put New York on top. The
runs were the first that Papelbon had allowed in 16 2/3 innings.

-- took Yankees starter Andy Pettitte off the hook. The left-hander lasted
just four innings in a rough 101-pitch effort marked by spotty defense,
well-hit balls and Pettitte's personal miscues.

Another run had been avoided when David Ortiz was cut down at the plate on a
throw by center fielder Melky Cabrera. Pettitte allowed five runs (four
earned) and nine hits as he left the Yankees somewhat short-handed and with a
huge hill to climb.

The challenge was made greater as the Yankees let Daisuke Matsuzaka off the
hook in the first inning, leaving the bases loaded. Having gone just 1-4 in
his last five decisions, Matsuzaka limited the Yankees to two runs and four
hits. Jorge Posada doubled to open the fourth inning against Matsuzaka and
scored on a Hideki Matsui triple, while Johnny Damon greeted reliever Mike
Timlin with a slowly hit sixth-inning infield single that brought home a run
charged to Matsuzaka.

牛肉今天只被洋基得兩分，擊出四支安打，
