The Yankees will turn to rookie right-hander Ian Kennedy as they search for a
three-game sweep of the Blue Jays and their eighth consecutive win on Thursday
night at Rogers Centre.

Kennedy has made only two career starts, but he is already proving that he has
an impressive amount of poise for a 22-year-old. In his last outing, against

"I was falling too far behind guys," Kennedy said after the start in Kansas
City, which resulted in a no-decision. "I was getting in 1-0 counts, 2-0
counts, and that is where guys are going to hurt you. Here, if you make a
mistake, it is a double or a home run. I just battled."

The Jays will counter with right-hander A.J. Burnett. In his last outing, the
30-year-old fireballer surrendered just one run on three hits in eight innings
against the Devil Rays. Burnett has gone 4-1 with a 1.92 ERA in six outings
since returning from a right shoulder injury on Aug. 12.
