Clemens wants Torre to return
老克希望老托留下
Roger Clemens said on Thursday that he hopes Joe Torre will return
as manager of the New York Yankees next season, but the seven-time
Cy Young Award winner hasn't decided whether he will pitch again.
老克希望老托可以繼續當總教練
不過這位7屆賽揚獎得主還沒決定是否還要投球
Clemens made the comments during interviews with two Houston
television stations following a golf tournament at Augusta Pines
Golf Club in Houston.
老克是接受休士頓電視台的訪問時說的
"I love playing for Joe," Clemens told KRIV-TV. "My wish would be
that he finish and close Yankee Stadium with a championship and open
up the new [stadium]."

"我希望他可以用世界冠軍為舊球場畫下句點,並為新球場揭開序幕"
The Yankees won't have meetings regarding Torre's future until Friday
at the earliest, and meetings might not begin before next week. Torre
has been the Yankees manager since 1996, and he took them to World
Series championships in four of his first five seasons. But they
haven't been back to the Fall Classic since 2003.
禮拜五之前都不會開會決定老托的去留,而且可能會拖到更晚
老托從1996年就開始當洋基的總教練,而他在前五年就打進四次世界大賽
但是自從2003年以後,洋基就再也沒有進過"秋季經典" (指世界大賽)
As he has been the last three seasons, Clemens was noncommittal on
his future as a player.
老克就像他之前的最後三個球季一樣,都不願表態是否繼續打球
"You know I haven't been very good at this. You know I thought last
year was good, you know I thought three or four years ago was good,"
he told KHOU-TV.
"你知道我不是非常強了,但是在過去的幾年我還是有點強"
Debbie Clemens, however, indicated that her husband might be leaning
toward retirement.
他老婆說老克比較傾向於退休
"I think he's ready to do the barbecue and come home," Debbie Clemens
said in an interview with KRIV. "I think it will be hard for him to
play a little bit. He's been such a workaholic and he's really put
his heart and soul into baseball. But I just think it's time.
"我想他應該已經準備好回家吃BBQ了"
"我想他已經有點困難再繼續投下了,他是個工作狂,而且他的心思都在棒球上,
但是我想應該是時候退休了"
"There's some good changes in our future, and our future is bright."
"未來有很多條路走,不管怎樣,未來總是好的"
Clemens, 45, has a 354-184 record in a 24-year Major League career
dating back to 1984. The right-hander was 6-6 with a 4.18 ERA in 18
regular-season games and left his only postseason start in the third
inning after allowing three earned runs on four hits against Cleveland
in Game 3 of the American League Division Series.
老克今年已經45歲了,生涯354勝184敗
今年6勝6敗 防禦率4.18 並且在季後賽出賽一場
但投不到3局 就被擊出四支安打 一共丟3分自責分
