Teixeira back in lineup, but Joba heads to DL
Right-handers Sanit and Marquez added to 25-man roster

NEW YORK -- Injuries came down hard on the Yankees on Wednesday, with Mark
Teixeira's return to the lineup a saving grace.

Right-hander Joba Chamberlain was placed on the 15-day disabled list because
of a strained flexor muscle in his throwing arm, and catcher Russell Martin
was not in the starting lineup because of a balky back.

Manager Joe Girardi was not sure when Martin would return, but said it could
be as soon as Thursday. In an emergency, Martin likely could play Wednesday,
Girardi said.

Right-hander Hector Noesi was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. In
place of Noesi and Chamberlain, right-handers Amauri Sanit and Jeff Marquez
were both added to the 25-man roster. Marquez was a waiver claim from the
White Sox.

Teixeira returned to the lineup a day after he was drilled in the right knee
by a Jon Lester cutter.
