1. Nova:

“It was in the second inning,” Nova said quietly. “Everything happened in
the second inning.”

Thirty-one pitches. That’s how long Nova’s start in tonight’s season-ending
3-2 Game 5 loss to the Detroit Tigers lasted. After surviving two first-inning
home runs and a shaky second inning, Yankees manager Joe Girardi had spotted
Nova stretching out his right forearm in discomfort during the bottom of the
second and acted quickly.

Nova was out and Phil Hughes was in.

“After the second inning he was stiff,” Girardi said. “And we didn’t like
the way the ball was coming out of his hand.”

Nova said he will have an MRI today on the area.

“I didn’t want to come out of the inning, but he took me out,” Nova said.
“I feel really bad right now. ... We’ll have to see what it is.”

Nova insisted he felt fine during warmups and even during the first inning,
despite the home runs he surrendered to Don Kelly and Delmon Young. But it was
the first pitch of the second, which resulted in a double by Magglio Ordonez,
that began the problems.

一切都是第二局開始的...

二局上，教練團不喜歡Nova的出球點，二局下Girardi看到Nova在做右前臂伸展，查覺不對
勁，所以當機立斷換Phil Hughes...

明天Nova右前臂做MRI檢察。Nova覺得暖身和第一局都沒問題，但第二局第一球(Ordonez
那個2安)之後右前臂開始不適...


2. C.C.

“I can’t even wrap my head around that right now,” Sabathia said. “I’m
just thinking about what I didn’t do to help us win. Maybe in the next couple
days, next couple of weeks, I’ll think about that and see what happens.”

CC說目前只想為什麼沒幫球隊贏球，也許接下來幾天或接下來幾周才會想合約問題...

3. Cashman

The contract of GM Brian Cashman expires at the end of the month. But in the
aftermath of tonight’s loss, Cashman refused to discuss his upcoming
negotiations. But Cashman reiterated that he wants to return to the team.

“Obviously, they’re going to be disappointed, and rightfully so,” Cashman
said of team ownership, several of whom were present at the game, including
managing general parter Hal Steinbrenner.

現金人合約這個月底到期，他說他想繼續待NYY，但不想討論接下來的合約談判。
現金人說球團老闆有權對今晚比賽結果失望...


4. Cano

The Yankees hold a $14 million option on Robinson Cano, which they will likely
pick up considering his MVP caliber production at second base. Cano also
starred in the postseason, hitting .318 (7-for-22) in the five-game series.

“I haven’t thought about that yet,” Cano said. “I’ve got other things on
my mind.”

Cano $14M選擇權。Cano說：目前還有其他事(來台嗎？ XD)，還沒想到合約問題...

5. Swisher

Nick Swisher, who can be retained if the team elects to pick up his $10.25
million option.

“I’m not ready to think about that right now,” Swisher said. “We’ll
cross that bridge when we come to it.”

Swisher$10.25M選擇權。 一樣目前不考慮這個問題，船到橋頭自然直...


6. Gene Monahan

The end of the season represents the end of a career for head athletic
trainer Gene Monahan, who is retiring after a distinguished stint with the
Yankees. He joined the major league club in 1973. He was honored by a video
board message after the game.

防護員Gene退休。從1973待洋基到現在。

Rodriguez hasn’t been productive since coming back from knee surgery, but he
said health was a non-factor this series. “Everything this postseason is on
me,” he said. “Let’s make that crystal clear. There’s no excuses for what
happened these five games. I was healthy enough to do whatever I needed to
do.”

都是我的錯，沒有藉口，健康沒問題。
