[新聞] Pettitte reveals what happened last season

彼得胖的Blog上有個讓洋基迷還未開季，就開始心驚膽跳的消息。
全文包含其他新聞，我略翻有關Pettitte的部份。

Pettitte 今天接受訪問時說道 去年季末時，他必需要靠訓練員的幫助，
才有辦法投完最後的十場比賽，也就是說，他必需打消炎針才有辦法上場

在那十場比賽，他二勝六敗，5.43ERA

「不知為何，我的肩膀就突然不行了。」但因為洋基那時還有進季後賽的希望
Pettitte還是繼繼的投下去。這突顯出二件事：
1. 派派很有種  2. 洋基對其他人沒太大信心

派派說他冬天時專注在肩力的強化上。檢查的結果也沒有顯示出任何結構性的傷害。
雖然還是有受傷的隱憂，但他自認已經把能作的事都作了。

看到這消息，不禁有點擔心。洋基投手 Rotation雖然好，但深度卻不比紅襪或光芒

希望派派的肩膀不會老化的太快。

Andy Pettitte said today “he needed some help from the trainer” to make his
final 10 starts last season. That’s baseball-player speak for cortisone
shots.

He was 2-6 with a 5.43 ERA in those games.

“My shoulder, for whatever reason, just broke down,” Pettitte said. With
the Yankees in contention, he kept taking the ball. That shows two things:
Pettitte has a lot of guts and the Yankees didn’t have a lot of faith in
anybody else.

Pettitte said he focused on strengthening his shoulder this winter and that
several examinations revealed no structural damage. While he remains
concerned something will happen, he knows he has done everything he can to
prevent it.

Meanwhile …

— It would not be a surprise if Kevin Cash makes the team. The Yankees may
need to carry three catchers for a few weeks if Jorge Posada is going to be
brought along slowly.

— Dave Robertson’s older brother Connor is with the Mets. He’s a
right-handed reliever, too. If they make the team, they’ll share a place in
the city. “Two hillbillies in Manhattan,” said Robertson, who is from
Alabama.

— The Yankees were going to have A-Rod met the press on Tuesday in the
dugout to try and make it more informal. But expect a full-fledged press
conference instead. The main reason? Derek Jeter, Jorge Posada, Mariano
Rivera and Andy Pettitte want to attend. Having Those With Rings on hand will
provide support, both real and symbolic.
