It may be coming a little earlier than anyone would have expected, but A.J.
Burnett will jump right into the fire for the Yankees on Thursday,
attempting to step up as the club's stopper.

A.J Burnett 禮拜四將為洋基出賽,挺身而出終結這個連敗.

Making his debut after signing a five-year, $82.5 million contract with
New York, the 32-year-old right-hander will be called upon to halt the
Yankees' losing ways and avoid a season-opening series sweep at the hands
of the Orioles.

Before leaving Camden Yards on Wednesday to rest for the afternoon start,
Burnett said that he anticipated there would be some butterflies before
he walked to the mound, a feeling that he said he would welcome as the
righty begins what he hopes will be a prosperous journey in pinstripes.

Burnett was 3-0 with a 3.09 ERA in six spring appearances for the Bombers,
making five starts and tossing four innings of scoreless relief in a
tuneup start at the new Yankee Stadium on Saturday.

Burnett的春訓成績是3勝0敗,防禦率3.09,共出賽六場,上禮拜六他在新洋基球場調整,
投了四局無失分.

The Yankees liked Burnett's ability to handle American League East opponents,
where he is 26-8 with a 3.08 ERA in 45 career starts. More importantly,
they love the idea that they won't have to face him anymore -- Johnny Damon
and Derek Jeter were among the players who openly lobbied management to
snap Burnett up as a free agent.

北佬喜歡Burnett的能力,尤其是處理美東的對手,生涯對上美東成績是26勝8敗
防禦率3.08　(靠！）囧尼和隊長很高興再也不用面對他了！！

"He's got very good stuff, and he knows how to control the running game
and field his position," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said.
"You expect him to compete at a high level. He's not a rookie anymore,
and he's not a young pitcher anymore. You don't necessarily think of him
as how he's going to handle a situation."

他有很好的投球機制,他很會控制比賽,Joe Girardi說: 你會期望他在較高水平的
地方打球,他不再是個新人,也不是年輕投手你不需要替他想,
他知道該要怎麼去處理比賽！

A Maryland resident, Burnett said that he would have to leave at least
30 passes at the Camden Yards ticket office for his personal cheering
section, including relatives of his wife, Karen.

作為一個馬里蘭居民,他不得不離開,他至少有30張入場證進去金鶯的Camden Yards
..她的妻子親屬也是可以用的！

Saying repeatedly during the spring that he took many lessons from
his days in Toronto and from watching ace Roy Halladay, Burnett said
that he is ready to put that education to the test.

過去在多倫多春訓,他從Roy Halladay身上學到很多,現在是驗收教育過後的試驗

"I think I put myself in a hole when I signed my Toronto deal,
trying to put too much pressure on myself and live up to expectations,
" Burnett said. "I think that I'm here for a reason and these guys know
what I have to offer. My job is to take the ball every five days and do
what I can to win. If I do that, I don't see a problem."

在多倫多簽約時,我認為我替自己挖了一個大洞,我試圖放很多壓力在自己身上,
且不辜負人們的期望!我認為我在這裡是有理由的...
就是盡我所能,每五天贏一場球..如果我這樣做,我就不會看到問題！
