Giradi......... 06/13 10:04

BOSTON -- The Yankees insisted the Red Sox didn't rip their hearts out last
night at Fenway Park with a come-from behind capper to a three-game sweep.
"There is the difference," Girardi said of his lineup not hitting in the
clutch. "We lose two games by one run, that's the difference in the series."
The loss dropped the Yankees two games behind the AL East-leading Red Sox
heading into a three-game Subway Series with the Mets, which opens tonight at
Yankee Stadium.
Had Sabathia and Aceves been able to hold the 3-1 lead that Rodriguez'
two-run, two-out double in the seventh off Manny Delcarmen provided, nobody
would be asking if the Yankees can beat the Red Sox.
But former Yankee Nick Green lined a leadoff single to left in the eighth and
Dustin Pedroia drew a walk with a 10-pitch at-bat in which he fouled off five
pitches.
Girardi jogged to the mound to inform Sabathia the left-handed hitting J.D.
Drew was the end.
"I told him, 'This is your last hitter, go get him. Give me one more hitter,'
" Girardi said.
Girardi
Drew hit a 0-1 pitch to center that scored Green and ended the night for
Sabathia (5-4), Sabathia, who gave up four runs and six hits in seven-plus
frames.
With Mariano Rivera throwing in the pen, Girardi summoned the right-handed
Aceves because he wasn't going to ask Rivera for six outs.
"I was going to possibly bring him in the eighth if the situation arose, but
it didn't," said Girardi, who figured he needed to get two outs before Rivera
went to work.
Aceves went to a full count on Kevin Youkilis before his single to right
loaded the bases. Jason Bay followed with an RBI single that tied the score,
3-3, and Mike Lowell's sacrifice fly to center put the Red Sox ahead 4-3.
The eighth inning was the turning point, especially Pedroia's at-bat, but the
Yankees had chances against starter Brad Penny long before the next to last
inning.
Derek Jeter opened the game with a single and stole second but didn't score.
Nick Swisher doubled to start the second and Hideki Matsui followed with a
walk, but Swisher got doubled off second for an inning-ending double play on
a fly ball to left.
"I thought the ball was going to hit halfway up the wall," said Swisher, who
was doubled off first Wednesday night.
With 102 games left, the Yankees have plenty of time to get off the canvas
and they don't see the Red Sox until early August.
Still, 0-8 . . ."We were coming here expecting to win some games," said
Damon, who went 1-for-13 in the three games. "We are two games out, our day
will come. Our team is good enough and should be able to beat any team on a
given day."
"我們來這裡本來想贏一些比賽的" 大門說
"輸了兩場,該贏一場了吧"
"我們的團隊和球員都很棒,有這個能力去贏球的"
Any team isn't the Red Sox and that given day hasn't arrived yet.
