NY Yankees notes: Alfredo Aceves, Jason Hirsh and a drop in velocity for Damaso Marte by Marc Carig/The Star-Ledger Wednesday July 29, 2009, 7:56 PM ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Some quick notes from the Trop. - Alfredo Aceves said he woke up on Wednesday without feeling the effects of a fatigued right shoulder. The reliever said he felt fine after throwing off the mound before Wednesday's game. Aceves last pitched on Saturday. - The Yankees traded for minor league pitcher Jason Hirsh on Wednesday for a player to be named later. Hirsh, a 6-foot-8 right-hander, had been pitching for the Rockies Triple-A affiliate, going 6-7 with a 6.66 ERA in 20 games, 16 of them starts. Yankees manager Joe Girardi said Hirsh was acquired to provide another option in the back end of the rotation. With Wang out, Sergio Mitre is the team's No. 5 starter. When the Rockies made the World Series in 2007, Hirsh started 19 games, though he has seen little big league action since. - The Yankees still have no long-term timetable on pitcher Chien-Ming Wang, who underwent surgery on Wednesday to repair a tear in his shoulder capsule. - The Yankees officially released Brett Tomko after he was desiganted for assignment to make room for Mitre. - Left-handed reliever Damaso Marte showed a drop in velocity during a rough rehab outing on Tuesday. Girardi said Marte's fastball hit only 88 mph and failed to finish off a planned two-inning appearance for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. He allowed two homers in 1 2/3 innings. http://www.nj.com/yankees/index.ssf/2009/07/ny_yankees_notes_alfredo_aceve.html -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 140.109.23.19
