Which Joe?

When talking to players or others about the Yankees manager, you can't just
say, "Joe." You might mean Torre, you might mean Girardi.
Of course, Derek Jeter has always called Torre, "Mr. T," so there's no
confusion there.
And while Jeter had to be one of the most upset to see Torre leave, he was
able to joke about Torre's absence today.
"I've always said throughout the years I couldn't imagine playing here
without (Torre)," Jeter said. "Now I can."
And after concluding the workout with the increased conditioning program --
today players had to run along the edge of the outfield grass, from one foul
line to the other and back, eight times -- Jeter was asked if he missed Torre.
"I missed him when we were running, a little bit," Jeter said.
雖然Torre的離開, Jeter是最難過的, 但現在終於可以說笑了。現在隊上說的Joe不是
老托, 而是新教頭Girardi。Jeter則總是稱Torre為T先生, 所以不至於混淆。
去年洋基球季初一堆人大腿拉傷, 使得洋基在五月時火了體能教練。球團認為去年大堆人
拉傷的原因是跑步做得太少, 因此加了很多跑步的練習。這增加的跑步訓練是必須延著外
野草坪的邊緣跑步, 從球場一邊的界外線跑到另外一邊來回八趟。
增加了這些訓練後, Jeter打趣說: "過去好幾年我總是說無法想像隊裡沒有老托時, 日子
要怎麼過。現在我終於能夠知道了。"
