It may take some time for the bruises to occur, from hours to days depending upon where the tear occurred. The circumference of the leg will most certainly increase. (1) From Newsday Wang has MILD calf strain Don't everybody freak out at once, but Chien-Ming Wang has a very mild strain of his right calf. He came in with a little irritation, which he said first occurred when he covered first base in the seventh inning against the Mets Sunday. He came in for treatment on the off-day Monday, and it has been feeling better each day, but he was examined at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia University Medical Center (longest name ever). An MRI was done, and he was examined by team physician Stuart Herson, as well as Dr. Chris Ahmad. He is not expected to miss a start. Wang said: "I'm going to be fine." He is not worried about it, he said, as it is getting better each day. It does not hurt when he walks: "Now it's good." He said he expects to make his next start. Yankees media relations director Jason Zillo said that Wang is not expected to miss his next turn in the rotation, which is scheduled for Saturday against the Mariners. Wang was examined at New York-Presbyterian Hospital this afternoon, skipping out on the Yankees’ annual team photo shoot. Team physician Dr. Stuart Hershon and Dr. Chris Ahmad examined Wang’s leg, while an MRI showed no serious damage. Wang said he suffered the injury while covering first base in the seventh inning on Sunday night against the Mets. He came to the Stadium on Monday for treatment, but there was some slight bruising today, prompting the team to send him for tests. “I’ll be fine,” Wang said. “It’s better. Now it’s good. I don’t feel it.” Wang, who is 6-2 with a 3.51 ERA will throw his bullpen session tomorrow, getting him ready for Saturday’s game. After opening the season 6-0, he is winless in his last three starts. Wang, who first felt discomfort in his leg in the seventh inning of Sunday night's 11-2 loss to the Mets, underwent a MRI at New York Presbyterian Hospital today after visible discoloration in his calf. "You get concerned," said general manager Brian Cashman, who authorized the MRI at the behest of team trainer Gene Monahan. "You never want to hear this stuff. I try not to worry if my medical staff tells me don't worry. I'm not going to overly worry, but it's certainly on the radar now when it wasn't before." Cashman said that Wang would not miss his next scheduled start Saturday against Seattle "if he can do his bullpen (session) fine without restriction" tomorrow. Wang came in for treatment Monday before noticing the discoloration today. He was examined by team physician Stuart Hershon and associate Chris Ahmad. "I'll be fine," said Wang. "It's gotten better. I'm happy. I'm good." Said Cashman: "If the doctors feel this is not an issue, then you move forward. If it is an issue, then you don't. Our doctors have told me if he gets through the bullpen, this is not an issue. But let's get through the bullpen (tomorrow)." http://tinyurl.com/59cb2h -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 140.109.23.24 ※ 編輯: yyhong68 來自: 140.109.23.24 (05/22 12:25)
