Final Facts From the Final Game

Hideki Matsui wanted to play in the last game at Yankee Stadium to have
a fitting farewell before surgery on his right knee. He singled and scored
the Yankees’ first run Sunday before grounding out and flying out, finishing
his season at .294. He will have surgery on Monday in New York, and he is
glad he did it this way.
