If a team won the game and the pitcher who finished the game is
not the winning pitcher, he is credited a save either
(a) The leading score is no more than 3 and he pitched at least one inning.
(b) The opponent player who represented the tying run is on base, at bat
or on deck.
(c) Pitched effectively for at least 3 innings regardless the runs
differential.
That is, the key point is when the closer is brought in, not how many
innings he pitches.
