Scouting Report:
Karstens makes his big league debut after 14 starts
this season for Triple-A Columbus, going 5-5 with a 4.28 ERA. 
In 11 starts with Double-A Trenton, he was a perfect 6-0 with a 2.31 ERA
and held opposing hitters to a .199 average.
He led all Yankee Minor Leaguers and was tied for second among all 
Eastern League pitchers with 12 wins in 2005. 
Meche didn't pitch poorly in his last start against the A's on Aug.16.
Aside from four walks in 5 1/3 innings, Meche mostly avoided trouble
and the A's big bats. In fact, the biggest blow he allowed was a
three-run home run to Mark Ellis -- the A's No. 9 hitter.
