Jeff Karstens made his Major League debut Aug. 22, but the Yankees' rookie
hasn't yet felt what it's like to pitch in Yankee Stadium.
Karstens在八月22大聯盟初登場，但是還沒有在洋基球場投球過。
For that matter, he hasn't felt what it's like to pitch a big-league game on
the East Coast.
Karstens will pitch in the Bronx for the first time Saturday against the Twins
after making his debut in Seattle and his second start in Anaheim. The Yankees
took the first game in the weekend series, 8-1.

The 6-foot-3 righty has long thought about what it would be like to pitch in
Yankee Stadium, but said he's not going to think of the start as almost a
second debut.

"If you think about it like that, you start pressuring and do stuff like that,"
he said. "I just need to relax, pitch like I do and let my defense play behind
me. ... I just want to go out there and worry about what's going on on the
field, not in the stands or whatever."

Karstens allowed three runs in each of his two starts, the first in 5 2/3
innings and the second in six. He got better as the game went on last Sunday
against Anaheim, using just seven pitches in the sixth and seventh innings.

"It gave me confidence, but at the same time there's more work to be done,"
Karstens said. "I've been getting better. I talk to [Cory] Lidle a lot every
day about things he likes to do when he pitches. He's helped me a lot."

Pitching matchup
MIN: RHP Scott Baker (3-7, 6.93 ERA)
Baker is the fill-in for Brad Radke, who has a stress fracture in his right
shoulder. Baker has made 21 starts this season, his best coming against the
Yankees on April 14, when he allowed just three hits and one run over seven
innings in Minnesota.

NYY: RHP Jeff Karstens (1-0, 4.63 ERA)
Karstens won the first game of his career last Sunday in his second Major
League start, allowing three runs in six innings against the Angels. He allowed
three runs in 5 2/3 innings in his rookie debut.
