[新聞] Yankees Place Lidle On Bereavement List

The New York Yankees placed pitcher Cory Lidle on the major league
bereavement list to attend the funeral of his grandmother.

Lidle is not expected to miss his next start which is scheduled for Monday in
Boston.

The Yankees acquired Lidle in a trading deadline deal from Philadelphia and
the veteran has amassed a 1-2 record with a 3.86 earned run average in three
starts with New York. Before joining the Yankees, Lidle was 8-7 with a 4.74
ERA in 21 stars with the Phillies.

Lidle was the losing pitcher in New York's 3-2 loss against Baltimore on
Wednesday.

To replace Lidle on the roster, the Yankees purchased the contract of pitcher
Brian Bruney from their Triple-A affiliate in Columbus.

The 24-year old Bruney was signed by the Yankees to a minor-league contract
on July 1 and recorded a 1-1 record with three saves and a 3.14 ERA in 11
relief appearances with the Clippers this season.

Prior to joining the Yankees, Bruney pitched in four games for the Arizona
Diamondbacks' Triple-A affiliate in Tucson before being placed on the
disabled list in mid-April. The right-hander was subsequently released by
Arizona on May 24.

Bruney has appeared in 77 Major League games, all with Arizona, with a 4-7
record and a 6.17 career ERA.
