BALTIMORE -- The New York Times reported late Wednesday that relievers
Mike Stanton and Paul Quantrill may have pitched their last games for
the Yankees.

According to The Times report, the two relievers "shook hands and
exchanged hugs with teammates and club personnel" after Wednesday night's
rainout in Baltimore. The report said that Quantrill would not comment after
leaving the clubhouse, while Stanton reportedly said, "You can read between
the lines."

Stanton's last appearance came in the Yankees' 5-4 loss on Tuesday, when
he allowed a game-winning home run to Baltimore's Brian Roberts in the
bottom of the tenth inning at Camden Yards. In 28 appearances this season,
the 38-year-old reliever posted a 1-2 record and 7.07 ERA.
