Sheffield responds to magazine story
Outfielder denies quotes from New York article
「Sheffield blasted Stephen Rodrick, who wrote the magazine story, saying
that the writer told him he wanted to do a positive story about the
player, only to turn around and take shots at him in the final version.
"There are a lot of things in there I didn't say. There's a lot of
things in there he made up to juice the story," Sheffield said. "It's
just whatever to make me look bad. That's what they want to do."
A spokesperson for the magazine said Sheffield's account of the interview
is the one that is fictitious.
"New York Magazine stands 100 percent behind Stephen Rodrick's story,"
said Serena Torrey, a spokesperson for the magazine. "His interview with
Mr. Sheffield was taped."」
「Rodriguez said the issue was not one that would "influence anything in
this clubhouse," repeating several times that he and Sheffield are close
friends.
"I can only speak for myself, but I'm very close with Gary, I love Gary,
and Gary is a great teammate. We'll leave it at that," A-Rod said.
"I've been here a year and a half. We're a family. People say things,
and it is what it is. ... It's not a big deal."
"He explained what happened, and that's about it," said Jeter, who was
unaware of the article until Sheffield called him on Friday. "He doesn't
have to explain to me. We have a good enough relationship where I
wouldn't question what he says.」
「"It's typical," he said of the incident. "That's the life of being me.
It's tough for me to do an interview when people have pens and have
motives.」
看來這些明星常有被媒體煩的時候
