[新聞] Sheffield plans to play two more years

Veteran Yankees slugger Gary Sheffield said on Saturday he plans to play two
more seasons after this one and then retire from baseball.

"Because me and my wife talked about it," said the 37-year-old Sheffield, who
revealed his future plans prior to the Yankees' game against the Royals on
Saturday at Yankee Stadium.

"I want to give myself an opportunity because I've never looked at the game
as having fun," Sheffield said of his two-year plan. "When they started
paying me it was a business. When I played for free it was fun.

"I'm playing for the love of the game now and I need two years to do that. I
feel like I never really looked around and paid attention to things on my
right or my left. And now it's time to pay attention to things I never paid
attention to."

看來老薛覺得在Yankees的生活還不錯呀
其實我還蠻希望看到他繼續待下去的
可是過兩年老薛就變成40歲了耶...
