Red Sox Punish the Sloppy Yankees

The booing landed on Randy Johnson like a thunderclap, intense and explosive,
booming down from all corners of Yankee Stadium. There were 54,688 fans there
last night, and they all seemed to jeer Johnson as he walked off the mound in
the fourth inning.

Johnson could not have been surprised. Dominance is getting harder and harder
to achieve for one of history's greatest pitchers, and it eluded him again last
night.

For Johnson, it is hard to believe he pitched well as recently as April 22,
when he dominated Baltimore for eight innings. Even including that game, he has
a 7.09 earned run average in his last five starts.
