Randy Johnson's first 76 pitches last night were plenty good, but his 77th
may have been the most meaningful.

That was the one that came up and in on Eduardo Perez, brushing back the
Indians outfielder in the seventh inning and giving the Yankees a measure of
revenge for Jorge Posada getting plunked an inning earlier. It was also the
last pitch Johnson threw, as he and Joe Torre were quickly tossed by plate
ump Paul Schrieber since the teams had already been warned.

The ejection brought an abrupt end to a stellar outing for Johnson, who has
been a frequent target of the Stadium fans this season. There were only cheers
this time, however, and he got a standing ovation from the crowd of 53,448 as
he walked to the dugout - as much for sticking up for his teammates as for
allowing a lone run over 6-1/3 innings of a 6-1 Bombers victory that was their
second straight and pushed them a game in front of the Red Sox in the AL East.

這個驅逐出場的判決讓強森爺爺出色的投球愕然終止，今年球季強森爺爺一直是主場球迷

The benches emptied after Johnson's apparent purpose pitch, but no punches
were thrown, and there was only a little pushing and shoving. Perez walked
toward Johnson and yelled at him, but the Big Unit seemed uninterested in
the conversation, heading quickly off the mound and up into the clubhouse.

Now he faces the likelihood of a suspension that figures to delay one of his
future outings, though that was hardly a concern; the focus was more on
Johnson's effectiveness and loyalty.

"I'm not too worried about that," Johnson said when asked about a possible ban,

In the sixth, Johnson hit Posada on the right elbow with a 1-2 pitch. They
exchanged words as the catcher went to first, and Posada threw his shin guard
away angrily. Once he reached the bag, the Yankee catcher raised his hands
toward Johnson, who continued barking before umpires stepped in. Pain in
Posada's elbow ultimately forced him out of the game in the bottom of the
inning, and Torre said it's questionable whether he will be able to play today.

Afterward, the Indians expressed more surprise over Posada's reaction than any
rage regarding the Big Unit's response.

"I don't know what Posada was so upset about," Cleveland manager Eric Wedge
said. "Jason's not trying to hit anybody."

Obviously Posada didn't feel that way, though he wasn't interested in giving
his side of the story."I've got nothing to talk about," he said before heading
out the clubhouse door.

Posada was surely pleased to see the Yanks knock Jason Johnson out of the
game shortly after he was hit, as Bernie Williams ripped an RBI double and
Andy Phillips - who dived into the first-base seats to make a game-ending
catch - blasted at two-run homer that ended Johnson's evening.

Still, the Yanks' real vengeance would only come once the Unit took the mound.
It figured that Johnson would hit Indians catcher Victor Martinez, who was
leading off and was Posada's corresponding position, but Martinez swung at
the first pitch (he flied out). Johnson then came inside on Perez, who avoided
the ball but still felt its intent.

manager), so the ejections were automatic and ended a particularly strong
start by the Big Unit, who didn't walk a batter for the first time since
April 13 and struck out six.

依據規定，任何投手在被裁判警告過後仍然對準打者投球，不管球有沒有真的擊中對方，
這名投手(連同球隊教練)將會被驅逐出場，所以這出場的判決是很正常的，這也結束了
強森爺爺一場出色的先發，這是他自四月13號以來第一次沒有保送任何打者，並投出

At one point there had been a question about whether Johnson would even take
the ball last night since the Yankees offered him some extra time to work on
his mechanics, but he opted to work out his problems on the mound and it
appeared to be a wise choice.

在這之前，大家都還懷疑昨天晚上強森爺爺會不會上場投球，因為洋基隊給了他一些多餘
的時間練好他的必殺技，但他選擇在投手丘上解決他的問題，顯然這是個好決定。

"It was a better pitched game today than there has been in a while," Johnson
said. "I was pretty much in my own world today pitching. But that's a good
thing."
