Unit, bats come up big in win over Tribe

CLEVELAND -- After an up-and-down first half which saw him struggle to find
consistency, Randy Johnson gave the Yankees a glimpse of the pitcher he hopes
to be during the season's second half.

Johnson's final line didn't look nearly as good as his performance, as he
allowed four runs (three earned) in 7 2/3 innings. Still, it was good enough
for a 10-4 win for the Yankees, who earned a four-game split with the Indians.

Jason Giambi and Derek Jeter each drove in three runs, while Aaron Guiel scored
three times in his first game as a Yankee.

Johnson finished the first half with a 10-7 record and 5.21 ERA. Last season,
he went 9-6 with a 4.16 ERA before the All-Star break, then went 8-2 with a
3.31 in the second half.

Cliff Lee allowed just one hit through the first three innings, but it was one
more than Johnson allowed, as the Big Unit sat the first nine Indians down in
order.

Giambi put the Yankees ahead in the fourth with his 26th homer, a two-run
bullet to right field. That proved to be more than enough for Johnson, who sat
the side down in order in the fourth, making it 12 in a row to open the game.

Giambi在第四局將球打出右外野，那是本季他的第二十六支全壘打，有兩分打點。這兩分
對在四局下又讓打者三上三下的RJ而言綽綽有餘了。

Johnson finally allowed a hit in the fifth, as Travis Hafner broke up the no-
hitter with a single to lead off the inning. But Johnson got Victor Martinez to
ground into a 5-4-3 double play, then got Ronnie Belliard out, preserving the
shutout.

第五局終於被Hafner打出一壘安打。但是接下來V. Martinez打出滾地雙殺，又讓Belliard
出局，繼續維持完封。

The Yankees tacked on three runs in the fifth and two more in the sixth, giving
Johnson a commanding 7-0 lead. Derek Jeter had two RBIs, while Giambi chipped
in his third.

洋基第五局得三分，第六局又兩分，以七比零領先。基特有兩分打點，技安三分。

Cleveland went down 1-2-3 again in the sixth, as Johnson faced the minimum 18
batters through six frames.

第六局印地安人又被三上三下，強森在六局裡面對最少的十八名打者。

Jason Michaels broke Johnson's shutout in the seventh with a one-out home run
to left. Johnson allowed one more single, but followed it by inducing a double
play off the bat of Hafner, finishing the seventh.

J. Michaels在七局下一人出局打出HR。RJ接著被打一支一壘打，然後讓Hafner打出DP結束
七局下。

After the Yankees scored three runs in the eighth to take a 10-1 lead, Johnson
was tagged for three runs on four hits in the bottom of the inning.

洋基在八局上又得三分取得十比一領先，八局下強森被打四安失三分。
