Johnny Damon doesn't actually have a sore oblique muscle. It's a lower
abdominal muscle that is bothering him and it's not near his rib cage.

Damon said the problem area "is the size of a lime" and he doesn't expect to
play tomorrow but maybe by Friday. "Nothing is ever long-term with me," he said.
"I'm a quick healer."

Damon, who has never been on the disabled list, said he felt the muscle
tighten during batting practice. But he took his first at-bat just to see
what he could do.

The Yankees did not name a starter for Sunday because Kris Wilson, "threw his
hat in the ring" according to Joe Torre. Wilson threw two perfect innings
tonight and needed only 18 pitches. Torre said the starter would be Shawn
Chacon, Ron Villone or Wilson and a decision will be reached by tomorrow.
