"Rain accompanies late Yanks' comeback in Ponson debut"

NEW YORK -- Melky Cabrera hit a walk-off homer in the bottom of the 11th inning
that barely cleared the right-field wall to give the Yankees a 5-4 comeback
win over the Mariners on Tuesday night.
星期二晚上，小卡布靠著11局下半那隻飛越右外野全壘打牆的再見全壘打幫助洋基隊以五
比四逆轉擊敗了水手隊。
When rain finally cooled down Yankee Stadium in the bottom of the ninth, the
Yankees heated up, scoring two runs to tie the game in the ninth and then win
their ninth in 10 games in the 11th. With a Boston win the Yankees are still
a one-half game behind in the American League East.
當Yankee Stadium的雨勢終於在九局下半停止後，洋基隊瞬間加溫，先是第九局先掃回
兩分追平比數，再於11局贏得了近10場比賽中的九場勝利，但今天紅襪隊也贏球，所以目
前美聯東區洋基仍然以半場勝差落後給紅襪隊。
Down two runs and with Seattle closer J.J. Putz and his 2.06 ERA and 17 saves
on the hill, the Yankees sent the bottom of the lineup to the plate in the
ninth. That's when the heavy rains starting falling.
這本比賽失了兩分的水手隊終結者J.J. Putz(2.06 ERA,17個救援點)在第九局上場投球，
輪到洋基的後段棒次打擊，此時Yankee Stadium的天空正開始下雨。
Andy Phillips led off with a double to right field. Cabrera struck out, but
then pinch-hitter Aaron Guiel singled home Phillips. Pinch-runner Bubba Crosby
then advanced on a wild pitch that seemed to slip out of Putz's hand. Jorge
Posada reached on an infield single that eventually got Seattle manager Mike
Hargrove tossed for arguing the call at first. The hit put runners on first
and third with one out.
電火球首先打出一隻朝右外野方向飛去的二壘安打，下一棒小卡布則被三振出局，但隨後
Aaron Guiel的安打送回電火球，接著Bubba Crosby代跑並靠著Putz似乎因為不小心手滑而造成的
暴投上到二壘，Posada馬上再捕一支內野安打，形成一出局一三壘有跑者的局面，而這球
也讓水手隊總教練Hargrove對於判決非常不滿，並起身向一壘審抗議。
Johnny Damon hit the first pitch he saw for an easy sacrifice fly to tie the
game. Alex Rodriguez, who did not start the game because of a toe injury
suffered in Monday's game, worked a 3-1 count before umpire crew chief Mike
Reilly called for the tarp.
下一棒Johnny Damon瞄準了第一球就出棒，打成了高飛犧牲打讓三壘跑者輕鬆回來得
分，而因為左晚腳趾受傷今天沒有排進先發名單的Alex Rodriguez在球數一好三壞時，
主審Mile Reilly便因雨暫時中止比賽。
Starting pitcher Sidney Ponson had a one-hitter through his first four innings
in his Yankees debut. But that one hit was a three-run homer by Richie Sexson,
who entered the game with 11 hits in 22 at-bats with three homers off Ponson in
his career.
先發投手Sidney Ponson在他前四局的投球當中只被一個人打了安打，不過那隻就是個三分
全壘打，打出去的是水手的Richie Sexson，他生涯對Ponson22個打數裡擊出了11隻安打
(其中三支是全壘打)。
Ponson allowed four runs in 6 2/3 innings overall, struck out five batters,
walked three, and left to a standing ovation.
胖松總共六又三分之二局的投球中，失四分，三振五，保送三，退場時獲得了洋基鄉民們
的起立鼓掌。
